Hi, I’m Cora
I have been drawn to old-fashioned skills and traditional ways of making for as long as I can remember—and just as drawn to sharing what I learn with others.
At nine years old, I started my first business, Cora’s Creations, selling crochet hair scrunchies, homemade herbal lip balms, and handspun wool from my Shetland sheep. What began as a child’s creative endeavor grew right alongside me. Over the years, my work deepened—from simple personal care products to medicinal salves and natural remedies, from colorful beginner knits to timeless wool pieces and a handful of patterns published on Ravelry.
Fiber arts remained a constant, even when life shifted and I no longer kept sheep of my own. In my late teens and early twenties, I began teaching in-person classes locally, sharing these skills face-to-face and helping others build confidence in their own hands.
Today, as a mother, my focus has expanded again. I now share my hobbies and old-world food preservation skills through writing, video, and a private community for those who want to go deeper. My work centers on practical, time-tested knowledge. Rooted in patience, stewardship, and the belief that traditional skills are not just hobbies, but life skills worth preserving and passing on.
More than a business, my hope is to cultivate a community of like-minded people who value traditional practices, meaningful work, and mutual encouragement. If you’re here because you want to learn, slow down, and build skills that last, you’re warmly invited to join me.
