RELEASE OF LIABILITY AND ASSUMPTION OF RISK

By accessing, viewing, downloading, purchasing, or otherwise using any content produced by A Pinch of Patience and Cora Bowe (including videos, courses, recipes, written materials, downloads, social media content, and related materials, collectively the “Content”), you acknowledge and agree to the following:

2. Inherent Risks of Food Preservation and Homesteading

You understand that home food preservation and traditional food preparation methods—including but not limited to meat curing, dry curing, smoking, fermenting, baking, canning (water bath or pressure), cheese making, aging dairy, working with raw milk, dehydration, and storage of preserved foods—carry inherent and potentially serious risks.

These risks include, but are not limited to:

  • Foodborne illness (including botulism and other bacterial, viral, or parasitic contamination)

  • Spoilage and contamination

  • Improper preservation due to environmental variables (temperature, humidity, altitude, equipment variation)

  • Allergic reactions

  • Injury from tools, heat sources, equipment, animals, or construction

  • Property damage

  • Temporary or permanent illness, disability, or death

You acknowledge that some traditional or heritage methods discussed may not align with current governmental or regulatory guidelines, including those of the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), FDA, or state agencies.

3. Assumption of Risk

You knowingly and voluntarily assume all risks associated with the use or misuse of the Content. You accept full responsibility for:

  • Your food safety practices

  • Your ingredient sourcing

  • Your equipment sanitation and calibration

  • Your environmental conditions

  • Compliance with all local, state, and federal laws

You understand that outcomes may vary and that no guarantees are made regarding safety, results, or suitability for your specific circumstances.

4. No Warranties

The Content is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

No representation is made that following the Content will prevent illness, loss, or damage.

5. Release and Waiver of Claims

To the fullest extent permitted by law, you hereby release, waive, and discharge A Pinch of Patience, Cora Bowe, and any affiliated entities, contractors, employees, successors, and assigns from any and all claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, or expenses arising out of or related to:

  • Personal injury

  • Illness

  • Death

  • Property damage

  • Financial loss

Whether caused by ordinary negligence or otherwise.

6. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless A Pinch of Patience and Cora Bowe from any claims arising from your use of the Content.

7. Governing Law

This Agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Washington, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from this Agreement shall be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Washington State, and you consent to their jurisdiction.

8. Severability

If any provision of this Release is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.

By accessing or using the Content, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to this Release of Liability and Assumption of Risk.
